We use epoxy resin.

A high quality resin that offers exceptional mechanical properties, adhesion and resistance to chemicals and environmental factors, such as heat and humidity. In addition, its permeability is lower than the typical vinylester or polyester resins used in boat building, which means no molecules getting released in your living environment. A boat made of epoxy resin offers better performance, resistance, stability and durability. Of course we could also build our boats using VE or PE, that would be simple, but not top of class !

Top of class infusion process.

We infuse the hulls, bridgedeck and top of bows together as a single body to achieve a lighter integral structure with the entire structure submitted to post-curing. The covered joints between deck and hull are glued with structural glue and completely laminated by hand to obtain a complete monolithic structure, sturdy and flexible.

Modern Appendices and Spaciousness

To the high-performance water lines, inspired by those of the futuristic America’s Cup catamarans, are combined the latest rudders design and mobile daggerboards, chosen to increase upwind qualities and comfort of the ITA catamaran in case of bad weather or downwind gaits. In adverse weather conditions, they allow you to achieve superior performance with an extra safety factor.

Sail 365 days a year with no worries

The bows of the catamaran have a series of watertight “chambers” (crash boxes) that act as safety boxes. In the event of an impact with a semi-floating body, the multihull has 4 safety zones before any leaks can affect the habitable area of the hulls. Finally, the materials used for the construction of the catamaran make ITA unsinkable even in the event of major leaks.

Precursors

From the onset Itacatamarans has been a pioneer of sustainability both on land and at sea, working with recognized companies and world leaders in electric propulsion and materials. This approach still continues today whether it is recyclable sails or use of bio-resins. A philosophy that begins with the careful management of the shipyard’s activities and forward until boat delivery, for an overall more environmentally friendly sailing experience.
